Lois Jean Pankuch Miller has now "stolen away" to her precious Jesus. She sang and quoted comforting words of Scripture as she awaited what was supposed to be a simple procedure going through her rib to repair a bad valve in her heart. She sang and quoted Bible verses down the hospital halls on her gurney all the way to surgery.
How she yearned to have some more time to do more for the Lord. She was so grateful to the Lord for loving her that she felt she could not do enough in a lifetime.
We reminded her that He loved her just for herself, too. Yet, not being able to keep up with her singing, writing, performing her monologues, teaching or speaking was a trial for her.
Until her health failed her, discipline and sense of purpose meant she used every opportunity to be purposeful in her endeavors always striving to do it well, in fact, with excellence. Someone wrote in a card after her death that our Mom showed people how to keep going on despite pain and infirmity. Lois and Bill were willing to take risks in faith, ready to serve despite inconveniences, and become adaptable to almost any situation.
Evident in these pages you will see how they longed to honor the Lord with an attitude that drew people to Jesus as well as by convincing words and actions. We pray that by reading "Stretched But Not Broken" you, too, will be drawn to Jesus; trust Him as your Savior and walk in His paths of righteousness.
